The Public Works Department is responsible for the seasonal maintenance of all township roads and streets; including removal of road debris, brush, trees and grading and ditching as well as winter control activities such as plowing, sanding and salting of municipal streets and roads. They are also responsible for doing water and sewer locates, culvert replacements, hard top repairs and patching.
The Public Works Department diligently ensures that the Village of Norwood as well as the residents of Trentview Estates are provided with safe clean water under regulations from the Ontario Clean Water Act

Council and staff are currently working towards the expansion of our waste water treatment plant, as the Public Works Department is also responsible for the Norwood Waste Water Treatment Plant and Collection System.

Although curbside collection is encouraged, the Asphodel-Norwood landfill site is open for residents to take materials that are not picked up at the curb (which are included in by-law #2005-75). The Public Works Department currently operates the Norwood Landfill Site.

Curbside Recycling
Blue boxes are picked up weekly and cardboard is picked up once a month. Cardboard is picked up the second week of the month on your regular recycling day. Blue box and cardboard materials are separate collections and are picked up by different vehicles at different times of the day.
Please have your materials at the curb by 7:30 a.m. Blue boxes can be purchased at the Municipal Office for $7.00 each.
Recycling can also be taken to the Norwood Landfill Site during regular operating hours.
